Hello, Friday! How are you darlings this week?

This week has been a bit rough around the edges, but sweet and hope-filled in the midst. We had water damage in our dining room and now have no carpet in that portion of our main living area, but it's being taken care of and we don't have to pay a penny so what a blessing! There have been some rather strong tantrums thrown by a certain 3.5 year old in our house, but we get to talk to her more about Jesus and watch her learn and grow and process so what's sweeter than that!? Hardest this week, we discovered that another month is passing and we are not pregnant; but in the midst of heart aches and flowing tears I've been reminded, in beautifully tangible ways, that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Ps. 34:18), and He's reminded me, so lovingly, that in His presence there is fullness of joy (Ps. 16:11)!

And there is the happiest lining to this week as we are counting down just a couple more days until my brother and sis-in-law and nephews come to visit and we are about to burst with excitement about that! To say I'm ready to see their faces and give them hugs and completely smush those nephews faces with kisses is the greatest understatement. We haven't seen them since last Thanksgiving so the missing them factor has hit an extra enormous level. Sunday, you can't come fast enough!

Our Little's 4th birthday is coming way too fast. 4, you guys. FOUR! That makes me weepy, it's just too old. J and I are living in a constant state of "can you believe that's our kid? that almost 4 year old little girl over there!? when did she grow up!?" and all that type of parental denial stuff.

It's so adorable, though, because she is so excited about her birthday this year! She keeps saying, "Mom! Maybe I could get dis fun toy fow my birtday dis time?" whenever she spots something she'd like to have in her little possession. One of the things we have been considering getting for her birthday this year is this Hape Playfully Delicious Gourmet Fridge that is the other part to her Hape Kitchen Set. We have been so pleased with that purchase for her a couple Christmas times ago and she plays with it constantly. And I can guarantee you that her favorite part of the whole thing would be the ice machine --- she's an ice fiend.

I think I'd like to add a couple flowy skirts to my wardrobe. They are versatile and light, they look deliciously comfortable, and the little girl in me would love how they twist and spin. I saw this White Pleated Midi Skirt from ASOS on Merrick's Blog this week and I adore it. The Duet Dress I came across last night as I was shopping LOFT's 50% off sale. I passed on it last evening, but I do hope to snatch one up at some point soon.

These Rifle Paper Company Illustrated Classics give me heart-eyes. They are on my list of to-buys for my little darling's room. Anne of Green Gables (one of my most beloved books/series), Little Women, and Heidi are three books that I'm especially eager to share with her as she grows up.

Last week I had the most enormous craving for poptarts. We never have poptarts in the house, but all of a sudden, I just needed to have them.....maybe it was the several episodes of Gilmore Girls I had watched that week. When I brought home one box, I was proud of my restraint, J told that me that he, too, had been craving a nice box of poptarts. And, let me tell you, they have been quite satisfying.

I have seen recipes for homemade poptarts before and had passed by them because, hey, I can buy them at Target for $1.99 when the craving hits; however, I couldn't resist pinning this recipe for Homemade Chocolate Poptarts, as they look like a rather fabulous dessert waiting to happen. With that little salt on top of the all that chocolate goodness --- oh, my. How do you all feel about poptarts? Any flavors that you can hardly pass by?

Well, friends, I hope you all have the best of weekends! Happy Friday!
