Hello, darlings. I'm sitting here at my desk with thunder rumbling outside and dark clouds moving in. I just adore a good spring storm. Thunder and pouring rain --- I'm all for it. It's just cozy. And there's nothing better than cuddling up with a good book or a movie with a spring storm rolling away outside.
Anywho, what do you lovelies have planned for the weekend? We are getting my sweet in-laws in today and are very excited about it! I'm a very blessed girl with the in-laws I have. I don't even like to use "in-law" in describing them. They are my family and I treasure them. They are helping us bring a haul home from IKEA this weekend for our Little's bedroom. I am so eager to get her all set up in her "new" room. There's so much I want to do to make it perfect for her, but I'm having to remind myself to take it one step at a time and remember it's a process.
We are also going to be planting a few flowers and herbs outside our front door while J's parents are in town. We actually have a little plot right outside the front door of our apartment and we are just so thankful that we've been able to have a bit of garden to enjoy throughout the past couple years! Happy things. Do any of you do much gardening during the springtime? What are your favorite things to plant?
A couple evenings ago J and I decided to have a date night in and make dinner together after Little went to bed. We love cooking together, but with a growing Little and a super tiny kitchen, all of us being in there at once can get quite snug, rather quickly. So sometimes we decide to cook a late dinner; we put on some French Cafe music, and spend quality chatting time together as we prepare our food, with an occasional kitchen dance added in. Some of my most savored moments. This week we made Ina Garten's Shrimp Scampi. So light, so fresh, so tasty.
My beloved JCrew Factory is having a 50% off everything sale until Monday. Plus, an extra 20% off clearance. Go mouse clicking happy, my friends! Obviously, within reason.
When we go to IKEA this weekend, I may need to pick up one of these Romantisk trays. I mean, it's $9.99! And it's always a good thing to have another tray around for breakfast in bed, entertaining, or for tea times with my girl.
How are you all celebrating Easter this Sunday? I do hope you all have a most fabulous and sweet weekend, dearies, however it is spent!
Happiest of Fridays to you all.
