It's Friday!!! Oh, happy day!
So, açaí bowls are all the rage these days. I have yet to try one, but I am definitely intrigued. I like the ingredient list and, bonus, it looks pretty. After all, you eat with your eyes first, right!? I saw the post How To Make An Açaí Bowl At Home on Thoughts by Natalie this week so I've been extra inspired to try my hand at this new trend. Have any of you tried them? What'd you all think?
I like these shoes. There you go. I've got nothing more creative to say than that. Women's Double-Band Sandals from Old Navy.
Baking a fabulous pizza crust is, so far, an unreached goal of mine. They've been okay......but "okay" pizza crusts far from satisfy. My sweet friend, Rachel, makes some of the best homemade pizza ever, ever, and I was able to watch her prep on evening, which was helpful. And blog posts like this one from Food52 are always helpful, too! From this blog post and my Rachel friend I found that I was missing one key element -- resting the dough -- from my process. Never again.
Little's "big girl room" is coming together piece by piece. I'm trying to be very thoughtful about each piece we place in her room. One of the things I know I'd like to have in her room is a print with the words, "You Are My Sunshine." We sing that song to AK before very nap time and bedtime and have done it since she was born, so those words must have a presence in her room. I like the simple elegance of the print below from the Picturality shop on Etsy, but I'd also love to make a print myself with watercolor. We shall see.
J and I love the show White Collar (no spoilers, please! we haven't seen the end) and I adore Tiffani Thiessen as Elizabeth Burke. I just love that character.....and her New York home. Tiffani Thiessen now has a show on Cooking Channel called Dinner at Tiffani's and she also has her website/blog: tiffanithiessen.com. I love both. I love her recipes, her style, and the snippets of her adorable and growing family. You have to see the strawberry/lemonade stand that they built for their little girl. Cuteness overload.
This weekend is Thunder over Louisville, which our fair city does every year on the Saturday that is two weeks before Derby day. It is crazy and crowded and celebratory. We have yet to venture to the downtown area of the 'Ville which is the hub for all the happenings. We opt for a more chill celebration of our own, with family and friends, and then we head to a hill on campus to watch the fireworks at the end of the night. Even from further away it's exciting to say "woohoo" for Louisville and start the anticipation for Derby.
What do you have planned for the weekend ahead, friends?
Happiest of Fridays to you all! xoxo
